| Plaza Group to market Blue Island Phenol |
Petrochemical products marketing company Plaza Group of Houston, has signed a multi-year contract to sell merchant phenol, acetone, AMS, acetophenone and cumene products made at Blue Island Phenol’s facility in Blue Island, Ill., starting July 1.
Plaza Group will increase its overall marketing capacity to more than 100 million pounds of acetone per year. “In addition, the strategic location of Blue Island Phenol in the heart of the Midwest will present advantages for regional distribution,” Randy Velarde, Plaza Group president. All orders and customer service will be handled in Houston.
Founded in 1994, Plaza Group is a multi-million dollar international marketer of certain chemical products for Frontier Oil, Alon Refining, Georgia Gulf, Total Petrochemicals, Marathon Petrochemicals, BP, Sumitomo, PDVSA, Sabic Innovative Plastics, Polimeri Europa, Rhodia, Shell and Flint Hills. |
